Background:
I am originally from Hampton, Nebraska. I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and with a B.S. in Education in K-8 Elementary Education and K-9 Special Education. I took my first teaching job at Inman, Nebraska where I taught Special Education. I came to Cedar Rapids in 1980 and began teaching Grade 3-4.
Family:
My husband Rich and I have two sons who have already finished college and are working. Kenton lives in Ankeny, Iowa and does computer drafting for an HVAC company. Lee and his wife Beth, live near Cedar Rapids and farm with my husband. Rich and I live on a farm about 10 miles from Cedar (the reason my car is always dirty).
Hobbies:
I like to golf (not well), piece quilts (getting better), garden, mow grass (I love to see the wheel mark patterns in the grass), and try different art projects. I cook in the summer and try new recipes that don't always work out well. I do however make great homemade chicken and noodles and cinnamon rolls!
